Too Much, Too Fast

The holidays bring so much—joy, nostalgia, togetherness—but they also bring an overwhelming muchness. Too many plans, too many obligations, too much noise. For neurodivergent women, finding balance during this time can feel impossible.

Let’s explore how to set boundaries, honor your energy, and make space for what truly matters this holiday season.

Why Balance Feels Harder During the Holidays

  1. Family Dynamics: Navigating family expectations and traditions can be exhausting.
  2. Holiday Burnout: Back-to-back events leave little room for recovery.
  3. Decision Fatigue: Endless choices—from gifts to gatherings—drain your energy.

5 Tips for Finding "After The Holidays" Balance

1. Prioritize What Matters Most
Reflect on your values and choose a few key traditions or events that align with them.

2. Use the “Two Things” Rule
When attending a gathering, focus on just two things:

  • A person you’d like to connect with.
  • A moment you’d like to create or experience.

3. Schedule Recovery Days
For every big event, schedule a day to rest and recharge afterward.

4. Embrace the Art of Delegation
Let go of perfection and ask for help with tasks like cooking, decorating, or gift wrapping.

5. Create Intentional “Me Time”
Dedicate time each day for grounding activities, like journaling or enjoying a favorite show.

Reclaiming the Holidays as a Neurodivergent Woman

The holidays don’t have to be a battle. As Dawn Leprich-Graves often tells clients, finding balance isn’t about doing it all—it’s about doing what feels right for you.
